9th July 2008, Southern Ohio businessman and a pioneer winemaker Kenneth Lloyd Moyer died today. Moyer founded Moyer’s Vineyard and Winery and died of cancer at his home. He was 88 years old.
And, in 1848 in Ohio, Nicholas Longworth has produced America’s first sparkling wine. However, he nearly abandoned the effort when 42,000 of 50,000 bottles exploded. Nicholas avoided economic disaster by collecting the exploded wine and distilling it into brandy.
